Finding Her Voice: Emily’s Journey of Confidence

Emily has an engaging sense of humor and a heart full of love.  Even though Emily was very comfortable in her learning environment she  was still hesitant to speak up with her peers and in front of an audience. Her voice was quiet, her words few, and it was very hard for her to share her thoughts, ideas and opinions with others. Today, she is stepping onto the literal stage with confidence—performing in theater and musical showcases with a voice that’s clearer, more confident, and full of joy.

“She’s actually mad when there are breaks—she just loves school that much!” shares Emily’s mom. Emily used to shy away from group activities, but now she’s bravely joining in—whether it’s an extended family gathering, a classroom discussion, or having a role in a performance. At school, she didn’t just find her voice—she used it to advocate for a role on the Learner Council, showing true leadership.

Your support made Emily’s growth possible. Because of you, she’s not just learning—she’s thriving, happy, and comes to school with a smile each day! And she’s not alone. Every gift opens the door for more Learners like Emily to discover confidence, courage, and connection.

Give by December 31 to help more families experience this life-changing growth.
