Finding Her Stage: Avery Discovers a Future in Theatre

At Bloom360, every Learner’s path unfolds in its own time — and sometimes, that path leads to the spotlight. Avery has always enjoyed performing, but in traditional school settings, her roles were small and her opportunities limited. Here, through Bloom360’s inclusive and strengths-based approach, Avery’s interest in theatre has blossomed into a true passion — and, for the first time ever, she sees a possible career path.

🎥 Hear from Avery herself. Avery shares what acting means to her and how it feels to step fully into a character’s world:

Through weekly music therapy sessions, group theatre classes we do in partnership with Pink Umbrella Theater Company, and our twice-yearly solo performances in our Bloom360 musical showcases, Avery has discovered how creativity, bravery and teamwork build confidence. These experiences have provided opportunities for Learners like Avery to explore and share their talents and practice essential communication and collaboration skills. Avery is willing to step out of her comfort zone as she feels safe, accepted and secure at Bloom360. Avery has moved audiences to tears with her solo performances as she sings so beautifully and it is clear that it comes from her heart and soul.

“Avery recently expressed that she’s got a big interest in being involved in theatre in some way as a career goal, which we support and would love to nurture,” shared Avery’s dad. “Pink Umbrella and Bloom360 have been pivotal in her forming that opinion… a few weeks ago was really the first time I’ve EVER heard her able to give an answer to the question people ask all kids, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’”

Music and performance are central to how our Learners grow in confidence, bravery and self-expression. Your support helps empower young people through the arts — cultivating  inclusion, connection, and joy every day.

Give by December 31 to help more Learners like Avery discover their voice and their future.
