Success Story: Avery Finds a Safe Place to Thrive
“Bloom360 has been life changing,” says Avery’s mother. “In just one year, it’s helped our resilient teen grow into an openly empathetic and caring active learner who stands up for what she believes in while also honoring sensory and emotional needs.”
When Avery’s parents approached Bloom360 Learning Community in the spring of 2023, she was a target of harassment and bullying at her middle school. She felt like she couldn’t be herself and was afraid to go to school. They were seeking a place where Avery could thrive at her own pace.
Since then, Avery has become an active member of our Bloom360 community. She sang a solo at each of the Musical Showcases, performed in Inside Out 2, a presentation done in partnership with the Pink Umbrella Theater Company, loves crafting and is a contributing member of the Bloom360 Learner Council. Her favorite project was called “New Again.” The Driving Question was: How can we recycle and repurpose materials to create new things?
“Our daughter always knows that a ride to and a day at Bloom are safe. She has finally been able to embrace what safety outside of home looks and feels like. That is absolutely priceless to all of us,” says Avery’s mother.
